One of the major topics up for debate this year was Sunday alcohol sales..the question being should Georgians be allowed to buy alcohol on Sunday, after much debate the bill failed in the house leaving some Georgians disappointed.

"I know it was a big topic with the Georgia assembly but I think they should have passed instead of defeating it because it robs our residents of income," said Georgia resident Beau Beezer.

Despite the non-Sunday sales a handful of alcohol bills did pass.

Alcohol will be allowed to be served on Sundays at Gwinnett County Minor League ballpark.

Also Georgians can now order wine over the Internet or via telephones directly from wineries, Limo drivers will be allowed to sell alcohol to customers and Georgians will be able to take wine home from restaurants as long as it is resealed.

"I'm real excited they passed the bill because number one it means we can increased sales of wine at a table and also a benefit for the customer because they don't feel obligated to finish that bottle of wine before they leave," said Victor Mitchell, owner of Fishbonz Cafe,

Aside from alcohol, taxes were another issue of much debate.

Glen Richardson's much talked about Tax plan designed to alleviate some of the burden of property tax failed to deliver at the assembly and ultimately was defeated.

"It's really sad not just for homeowners that the tax breaks didn't go through but really it effects all of Georgia. This is a bigger issue and of course its all over the country, Georgia's not the only one facing this problem," said Georgia resident Tim Green.

Although taxpayers will have no relief this year, a bill allowing tax credits for film makers in Georgia did pass

All of these bills will have to be signed by Governor Sonny Perdue before they go into effect.

Also, a controversial gun bill which would allow gun owners with concealed weapons permits to carry weapons into ,state parks, restaurants, trains and workplace parking lots with the companies permission did end up passing.
